Junko Mizuno Infectious "Full Throttle Witch" MINI Cooper

The photo's ABOVE are of my car when I first bought it last week (*The "BEFORE" photo's*). I loved it but I just wanted to make it my own... so NOW it's more me! Doesn't she now look more LOVED? ::smiles::

FINALLY got to customize my new MINI Cooper with "Full Throttle Witch" by Junko Mizuno! For now I've only purchased the hood art piece with accessory details. I plan on getting the Witch side panels to complete my look!

So far so good!

3 new Junko Mizuno original sketches

Sorry about the glare from the flash...

The photo's do not do them justice. The sketches are actually done on an off white "light vanilla" color paper with matting to match! Then the frames are an espresso brown.

Not too mention... these are rather large in size, including frame they're 16.5" x 19.5" inches for both "Imagination Pie 1" and "Imagination Pie 2"! Then 14.5" x 17.5" inches for the front view portrait of "Anne".

I may have been cutting back on my shopping due to a recent car purchase, but owning these originals definitely ease the pain. They are truly enchanting! Wow!

MAGIC PONY Junko Mizuno Solo Show 6/09-7/09

Ok... So I WISH that I could make it up to Toronto on Thursday for Junko's solo exhibit @ MAGIC PONY. I just simply don't have the vacation time or spare cash at this moment to run off and finally meet her there. She's going to be present for opening night.

They've already put her pieces up for pre-view and for sale. Make sure to drop by their web-site and check them out. Her theme is loosely based on the tale "Anne of Green Gables". Now if I only had the 5K to buy the main painting! lol

I may have bought something from this show, but I'll reveal that once it's over... and the item has arrived! ::grins::

"Sad Monster... The Ultimate Kaiju" Squidnik print from 2006

This print is roughly from around September of 2006. Squidnik did a run of 100 for this Giclee Epson UltraSmooth Fine Art Paper (100% cotton rag, 250 gsm) 11"x17" inch print. Not sure if 100 were really produced or if the run stopped early. He created these prints to try and raise funds for producing a toy version of "Sad Monster". Unfortunately this attempt was unsuccessful, but he sure did create a beautiful piece of work out of this!

This is what Shan had to say about his own work
"Sad Monster is derived from a mushroom cloud...a certain imagery of doom and destruction... and something I've found to be rather sad during my time on the planet.
The idea is that this basically is what spawned all other giant monsters...and is a living monster in itself.
I for one am very proud of this creature and have put a lot of work into its development over the years..."

again... thanks go out to "lalolo" for helping me acquire this piece!

The Creature ~ Squidnik custom toy 2007

"The Creature from the bubble gum lagoon"

This was a custom done by the artist known as Squidnik! He used a "Dumb Dummies" toy form. For this project he did a collaboration with his wife "Jennyfur". He did all the painting except the face detail. That was all her! Such a wicked piece with awesome detail!

This was a piece that was commissioned by fellow KidRobot toy forum member "lalolo" back in 2007. Thank you again lalolo for helping me build my Squidnik collection.

The photo at the top of this post is of the toy BEFORE it was completed in 2007 by them. Below is a picture of the completed custom with my other custom toys by Squidnik. You can see a few things different!

She's sending me No. 11 Mako from 'Mori No Mako San'... have NO CLUE on what it looks like. I didn't want it scanned I wanted it to be a surprise for when it arrives. How exciting!

I wonder how many cards are in this series anyways???!!! And so does my bank account!!! lol

2005 U-noa Freak Book Gentaro Araki Cover

So vivid... and SO purple! Gorgeous!!!

U-NOA FREAK BOOK

Very RARE !!!

Artwork by Junko Mizuno/ Toko Ohmori/ Yun Kouga

A new picture collection book "U-noa Freak" was released on May 2005 by Hobby Japan publishing. Junko Mizuno did the cover illustration. It was a well-done package, which included collaborations between U-noa with several other illustrator including Junko Mizuno. The book also contained the history of U-noa and had some explanations of each part by Araki.

This book is packed full of amazing art and doll photography by artist Gentaro Araki ! It also has many clothing patterns and tutorials on how to do face ups, stringing and how to make shoes. It highlights the special features of the UNoss and Unoa bodies. It is a stunning book and a must have for the BJD collector!

Can't wait till this arrives home... not sure if Mizuno's work is only on the cover or if there's more to it!

2003 HMV Junko Mizuno promotional flyer

I LOVE...LOVE...LOVE this 2003 fold-out flyer for Mizuno by HMV. First of all it has a picture of the rare FESTIVAL 24 Fantasy Figure by Mizuno on the cover and has cut-out pieces to use it as a paper doll!!! Then it opens as a tri-fold... showing off all of Junko's Miznotic fantasy original figures, Miznotic night versions, Dokuro-san faux-leather plush, an ORANGE 2"inch Dokuro dunny, her books "Fancy Gigilo Pelu, Fairy Encylodpedia, and her 1996-2002 Fireworks. Then on the back is a picture of the FESTIVAL 24 figure again... with all of the paper doll parts on it and very small images of 8 of her other books. It kills me to see how much the books, dolls, and such were priced for way back in 2003!!! :::twitches:::

Now I know there's another color version of the 2" inch Dokuro dunny! DAMN! lol...
There's the original purple, the cool black & pink special HMV logo, now the orange!

Junko Mizuno "Fancy Gigolo Pelu" book mark

Glossy promotional hardstock book mark of Junko Mizuno's "Fancy Gigolo Pelu" by "eb!" aka enterbrain. Another find surfing the web in Japan! This marker is in mint condition and has never been used. I love finding adds and other promotional doo-dads of Mizuno's work! This book mark may be small... but I adore the printed many images of Pelu!

This comes with it's original "Enterbrain" envelope!
